    hi all

I had a credit card before, its not active as it's been a long time since i have used it and I will need to re-apply, (I was working full time at the time I had the Card), now I don't have full time work now as I get carers allowance, I will apply but do you think I would be rejected because I am on the carer allowance rather than having full time work? I am going away for a break soon and would like a card for emergency use. thanks for any help.

    Tim

Your question might be answered if they do not ban you first. They banned me for nothing lol.

Its still classed as income so a lender may provide a card with a reduced credit limit aslong as your credit file doesn't make for interesting reading

If you haven't done so already, check for sure that the old card account isn't still open. I had a dormant Barclaycard for years that was never used, but the account remained open until I actively closed it. May just need a new card to be issued.

    thanks for the replies.

I went to the bank this morning about it and the account has been closed, I think I have left it a bit late now to apply for a new card as I leave on Sunday, I have a Visa Debit card, they said I could use instead (in France) and they put on the system with my dates.
