    bit of a problem, :thumbsdow
have installed all software and drivers (also checked for latest drivers) but windows is not recognising the player as a removable drive ??
when the usb is connected it is detected and loads drivers etc but a look in explorer reveals no drive?
i'm using 98 se and tried reinstalling but still no joy.
have just bought this as a birthday prezzy for the wife so any pointers would be greatly appreciated...cheers

It's possible the USB controller on your PC isn't supplying enough power (enough to detect the device but not enough to fully power it).

You said that you are using W98 se whch suggests that your PC may be a few years old. Does the player say it needs USB2.0 or 1.1? if it needs USB2.0 your PC is unlikely to power the drive.

Could always pick up a cheap PCI USB2.0 card from Ebuyer etc.. should get one for around a tenner.

    Try this:
open up 'My computer' before inserting the USB drive,
and then watch for any new 'Removable Disks' to pop
    up.

    When they are are Removable Disk: D, E, F, J, K...
it is sometimes hard to tell which drive is your mp3 player.
So if you open up My Computer first, you can watch to
see which new drive pops up when you insert the player.
