Creating a firmware update disc for Sony BDP-S350

Active Member
Ive just downloaded the latest update from sony for my BDP-S350.

Ive done previous updates and to get them on CD I just used nero express and used the image, project, copy and that was it. the files were Image Files (.ISO)...simple!

Now the new download is 2 files "BD07-VUD.BIN” and “SONY-VUD.ID”.
and the instructions are ....To create the firmware upgrade disc, write the decompressed files ("BD07-VUD.BIN” and “SONY-VUD.ID”) to the root of a CD-R. (avoid using ISO9660 format if using a writing software).

What does that mean for me with nero 8?
CD Rom seems to be ISO9660
There is also option of CD Rom UDF? Im baffled!

When it says write the decompressed files it means "BD07-VUD.BIN” and “SONY-VUD.ID" that you have extracted from a zip file.
You can use the disc burner built into windows to burn these to a CD-R just put them in them straight on the disc no folders. Burn it and you should be good to go.

Sorted.. at last!!

If anyone else is struggling heres how I did it. (I have Vista)

Double Click on Computer
Double Click on DVD burner (Drive E or whatever yours is)
Box appears, click on "Show Formatting options" select mastered Click next.
Drag 2 files that you have extracted and burn!
