it's mental in this part of the world tonight!!! I didn't realise I lived so close to New Orleans!

THE WORST RAIN, LIGHTNING I HAVE EVER SEEN in England!!!

..it's even broken the caps lock on my keyboard !

Is it kicking off anywhere else tonight? We'll be underwater before long if this keeps up... glad I'm on a big UPS, the lights are going out every other minute for the last hour now!

I'm just praying for the Minster to get hit, A big Gothic church on fire would just look awesome, especially on a night like this... I might even get the camera out...

Yeah we've had the storm of the century here too! It didn't stop lightening for about an hour, never seen anything like it.

Had an electrical storm up here in Durham about 6pm, probably the same storm that then hit Yorkshire, brilliant light show!

Up here in Manchester, a large area of traffic lights were taken out and homes in a 20 mile radius lost power for an hour or so.

I think its moved further North now. But certainly not a night to be using your projector unless you have a UPS.

Been lovely here all day! Been out in shorts and tshirt enjoying 30C direct sunlight! Still damn warm out there.

We've not had a spot of rain but the skys filled with lightning but NO thunder. Really strange because its not forked just lines going horizontally above the clouds :S

Still 20deg down here, I've spent the evening in a beer garden watching a lightening show but only had a few drops of rain fall on me. I certainly couldn't hear the thunder. :)

Where in Manchester? I live in Blackley and we've just had light rain, which is an exaggeration. Drizzle more like it

I realised last night that I do not have the patience to try and catch a good photo of lightning! It isn't as if there wasn't enough of it either...what a lovely storm!
