I was wondering if any of you have had the chance to hear Craneaudio's Oceana range and if so what are your thoughts?

One reservation is that the center anr surround speakers are only 40w do you think this would be a problem with a Denon 3801?

    Cheers for your thoughts,Regards,
    John.

I was looking at these speakers as well, as they look great but i have yet to read a report on there sound .you can try them at home for 7 days and if you dont like you get a full refund and as delivery is free and they pick them them back up it may be worth a go.
There is nothing better than trying them in your own home with your own stuff
let me know if you try them , and i will let you know
    :)

I'm not 100% sure, but I think Uncle Eric said he was getting a set to listen too, in one thread.

Not sure if he ever got them though.

Then again, perhaps not! Wars have started over less...

I'm sorry that some have been personally disappointed with the Oceana.
However, we have many, many satisfied customers who are using the package for both cinema and hifi. Real customer comments can also be viewed on our website at www.craneaudio.com, under 'About Us' then 'Customer Comments'.
And remember, we do offer a money back guarantee so you've got nothing to loose by trying the speakers for yourselves.

    regards

Sorry - I meant 'real' as in 'genuine' in the context of the comments, not the customer! I think it may read wrong!:)

    I have genuinely heard them..................

And can say that if you want lifestyle looks resonant enclosures and very simple speaker stands, have no kids that will knock the towers over, erh, could be worth a demo.

Looked to me like a Far East rip-off of the Celestions. Don't get me wrong, some maybe drawn to them, cos they look nice from a distance and you get alot of cardboard boxes for your money.

Personally, not my cup of tea.

A local dealer to me now stocks the Gallos, they were dubious because of the reviews in a certain AV mag. These are now KEF Egg crushers....................

Don't be taken in by reviews of the back of lunches and trackday jollies, try and demo them yourself.

    Rgds

Correct me if I'm wrong but it appears that you do actually lose £17? Reading the small print I found that if you did return the product you were liable for a restocking fee of 2.5% which even on your current offer that expires in a week works out at £17. Correct?
