i just got sky digital installed and i have the sky digital connected to my nicam video via scart and the video is connected to my amp via phono connectors. When listening to some channels such as channel 5 or sky one i can here a slight crackle to the sound and it doesnt do it with all the stereo channels.

    Any ideas whats causing it?

    Some suggestions:

    1. Your signal quality is less than 50% (check menu).
    2. Your Sky Digibox volume setting is too high (check menu).
    3. Your preamp input volume is too high. (If it's adjustable)
    4. Your Amp may not be compatible with the Digibox).
    5. The Digibox may be faulty (is it OK when conected to the TV Scart socket?)
    6. Your VCR may be incompatible (try connecting Digibox direct to Amp.)

By "incompatible" I mean that it won't tolerate the audio signal levels from the Digibox. You could try making up a resistive attenuator.
