Does mention that some countries already do this (eg Spain) so good to see it being rolled out europe-wide.

Not sure exactly what it means, but for my recent visit to Spain I needed to fill in the locator form, show the vax certificate, show the UK form before returning and do the 2-day test.

However the gov's site still says vaxxed persons need to be tested before entry, so I have the feeling that this will simply prove that the minumum (not none) testing pre-entry is required, and that you can use the NHS pass to enter indoor events.

I wish the whole of Europe (inc the UK) was under one common protocol!!

We have a separate forum for that ;)

What it means is that the QR codes are compatible with the local scanners. I was last week in the Netherlands before this was updated and then they just read the NHS paper. With this update, you have to recreate your PDF the paper can be scanned with the app that most establishments have and you get a green tick. So nice and frictionless.
