Use something like paint shop pro to resize them.

I change them to 300dpi resolution and make them 27.4cm wide and 18.4 high.

Print them at 100% and landscape. I use Glossy paper to get the best results.

On www.cdcovers.cc there is a program you can download, you can drag and drop covers into it and resize them to whatever you want, it already has the sizes built in for CD, video, DVD covers etc.

I used it when I had some screeners, which just came in a CD case. I got the sleve image, droped it into there and hey presto, the DVD cover looked the same as it would have in the shop. I used Photo paper and increased the resolution to make them look more profesional.

Hold on a minute. Isn't it a breach of copyright to download/scan dvd covers and then print them out?

There's only one reason I can think of that anyone would want to do this.

It's time we had the Forums' moral police give their opinion on this.

There are other reasons to what you are thinking.

The main one is to replace crappy cardboard snapper covers with ones that fit in amarays.

I was doing this, before sites like DVDcoverart got popular. I was scanning my snappers and printing them at the right size to fit in a amaray case.

Converting the Matrix snapper to fit in an amaray was my first one.

no there are loads of reasons, some cover sites have alternative covers for dvds and some of the artwork is much better than some original covers. Also i dont like the bi-lingual covers, and i dont like covers that have loads of press blurbs all over them.

It's breach of copyright, pure and simple. This type of behaviour cannot be condoned on this site as it promotes piracy. Pure and simple. It doesn't matter if it's to replace "crappy snapper cases" or whatever. When you bought the movie you knew what you were buying. You bought one copy of the cover and it is illegal for you to make another copy just because you are unhappy with the one you got with it.

These forums cannot be seen to condone this type of behaviour for fear of being shut down, or losing lucrative sponsorship or whatever.

I am reporting this matter to a moderator, probably PoochJD for a ruling. It'll be interesting to see what he says.

LOL what a Sure fire J*** you are how pathetic do you sound, who the hell are you to tell people they cant replace ****ty covers with some cool custom covers? i have been doing this for years and as long as i bought my original DVD i will do what the hell i like in regards to changing the cover or replacing a crappy snapper case with a Amaray Case and new cover.

you get my vote the most pathetic person of the year award well done!!

P.S your "its for the good of the forum rubbish" makes no sense have you not seen the "Back DVDs to hard drive sticky above" forum rules are relaxed dont you think breaking the encyption of DVDs is a tad more serious than just changing covers??

Im regreting even mentioning the program now.

The only reason I had for it was to add covers to original Screener DVD's which were given to me by reps from film studios. Just to make them look a bit better on my shelf.

If everyone followed copyright rule to the letter, then im sure 99.9% of people have broken it. ANyone ever copy a CD onto tape to play in the car????? Thats breach of copyright!
