Just thought I'd share with you a couple of pics of my uncle's system. No explanation necessary, I presume. :)

    Hi,

I like the F1 speakers, how come he's not using the matching F1 centre? Is your uncle in Hong Kong?

Yep, he's in Hong Kong. I'll have to ask him about that, which occurred to me as well.

    Hi Will,

this cabinet for the av gear is quite nice - especially with the retractable front doors.

Do you know which manufacturer supplies these cabinets? Or is it home made?

    Thanks for your input

    kraal,

Powers of deduction and quite elementary, as Sherlock Holmes would say :D

The pic is obviously of a high rise condominium/apartment and there aren't that many places in the world that have such places with owners who can afford F1 speakers. The use of downlighting in the ceilings is another clue, as the type of downlights used are more popularly found in the Far East. The rest of the equipment he has, together with the use of a plasma suggests the owner is not poor, yet the speaker placements were compromised as was the rest of the equipment placement (relative to European or North American homes) due to space limitations.

Which left me thinking where would you get financially comfortable/rich people living in relatively space restricted homes except in places like Tokyo, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore? The decor is not typical of Tokyo or New York, which leaves Singapore or Hong Kong. I plumped for Hong Kong because I know for a fact that there aren't many F1 speakers sold in Singapore compared to Hong Kong so on basis of probability, Hong Kong it is

Audionutter - very good powers of deduction - however New York could have been eliminated if you look at the ying tong writing at the bottom of the plasma in the second photo
