Need some quick advice for my bro before he commits to a HTPC setup.

He has a Nvidia GTX 7800 and the rest of the spec is irrelevant to the next bit I think.

Using this GFX card can we output 1080p, is it possible to convert it to HDMI or can we only use component?

Secondly when the cheaper version of the Asus Xonar 1.3 comes out (to pass through the new HD audio formats), can we pass the 7800 DVI out and into the sound cards HDMI in - for the purpose of combining video and audio - and then using HDMI straight to the TV?

Im aware people recommend the ATI 4xxx gfx cards to do this (and I know these are DVI out but come with their own DVI to HDMI cable). But I am not sure if this is something on these cards which allow this - of if we can do the same thing with the 7800.

    Hope im making sense!

    Thanks for any replies,
    D.

i also have my pc running at 1920x1200 with no problems either. the screen im using is 1920x1200 so its possible.
