Been researching the purchase of a universal remote, and think I'm set on the Harmony One. Really would have preferred the 1000 / 1100 model to provide maximum future proofing and RF capability, but just couldn’t justify the price.

As the One doesn't have RF, and in the future I plan to hide all my HC components out of site in an upstairs cupboard, am I correct in thinking you can get an IR extender for this purpose that will work in this set-up? If so, any recommendations?

Also, as I've never had a universal before, on the One remote, how do you select unique buttons such as 'TOP MENU' and 'HOME' that I have on the remote for my Sony BDP-S350 blu-ray player?

Many thanks.

I use a Marmitek Powermid extender that converts the IR from the One to RF, transmits it by RF to its receiver near devices, then back to IR to control them.
You get all the commands that the original remote has, and if they are not initially on buttons you allocate them as you wish.
