I probably wont bother with CS, RS3 is more than sufficient to keep me going (although I believe CS has better online modes)

After all as lots have said, its based on 6 yr old tech.

It's got nothing on Rainbow Six, looking quite dated now.
However the more I play it the better it gets. Get online with a few off your friends list and it's a good laugh but it's just not in the same league as R6 in my opinion.

Reminds me a lot of SOF2 - fairly fast paced, clunky, not good graphically but with the right people >:D

I think you guys need to put your comments in context.
I assume from your comments you are talking specifically about counter strike for the xbox; however not everyone uses an xbox for 'online' gaming.
Takeing the xbox game to be the game being discussed - I am sure you are right about the game suffering from being dated.

In the rest of the online gameing arena - counterstrike is not a standalone game - its a free downloadable mod for Half-life programmed by a guy at home that became and still is the biggest and most played online game. Althought currently its suffering due to its current update using steam which has put alot of players off, there are still more cs servers around than any other game.

So, for us non xboxers that make up the majority of net gamers, its not quite the same to compare Counter Strike and a paid for published game like Rainbow Six.

Fair point regarding the origins Ethics,

However, if Nelly was referring to the xbox version, and he paid for it, then I would suggest it is more than fair to compare with Rainbow 6 ?

yes, just a case of putting it in context.

It was the xbox version i was talking about i wouldn't of minded if it was a add on like the pc version but for 40 quid i dont think it is worth it.

jelly if you go to http://games.sierra.com/games/half-life/support.html you can download the lastest patch for the game

I'd never played counter strike before the live version.
But now i have played it i'd say it's worth £40 i love it, i play it was a great bunch of guys & that really helps.
It's a bit of wolfy, R6, sof2 all rolled in to one great game. :)

I've played Counter-Strike on the pc since one of the beta editions and have loved it ever since.
I also had Rainbow Six on the pc and enjoyed it single player but never got into the online version.
Haven't tried either of these on the xbox, would hate not having my mouse to aim with!
