    Hiya sorry for the noobi3 question but....... :blush:

    my front room is 16 foot long and i want to order a panny ptae300 projector, and have a screen of 106inch diagonal, ive used a throw calculator and it says

    Calculated 16:9
    Image Size Diagonal Range: 106 - 165 in. ( 8.8 - 13.7 ft.)
    Height Range: 52 - 81 in. ( 4.3 - 6.7 ft.)
    Width Range: 93 - 144 in. ( 7.7 - 11.9 ft.)

    so i guess at 16 foot i would get my desired screen size of 106inch?

    i just want some1 with more knowledge than me (meaning anyone) to confirm im ok b4 i order, i here www,nexnix.com is very good as thats where im gonna order from? or is there anywhere cheaper?

    many thanks

    cheers
    jason

    Hi the Fragmaster,
    If you check Projector central @ www.projectorcentral.com they will tell you any distance you can think of.

    Anyway the Panni 300 @16ft gives:

    Diagonal 8.8-13.7 ft
    Height 4.3- 6.7 ft
    width 7.7-11.9 ft

    Hope this helps.

    Guys,

    The Projector Central Calculator for the AE300 is wrong. Use the Calculator for the AE100 instead. Both projectors have the same throw ratio.

    So for a 106in Diagonal Screen (ie Width 93in/7.75ft and Height 52in/4.33ft) the closest you can have the projector is 10.4ft and the farthest you can have it is 12.9ft. So if you want that size screen you definately cant mount it at the back of your 16ft long room. If you were determined to mount it at the back at in or around 16ft the smallest size image you could project would be a diagonal of 132in ( ie W115in/9.6ft H 65in/5.4ft) and the biggest diagonal size image would be 164in ( ie W143in/11.9ft H 82in/6.7ft)

    I make the same as calibos, the formula from the PT-AE300 manual is (in metres):-
    SW=SD*0.872
    SH=SD*0.490
    LW=1.229*SD-0.0381
    LT=1.481*SD-0.0381
    H1=SW/32

    Where SD=screen diagonal, SW=screen width, SH= screen height, LW = Minimum Projection Distance, LT=Maximum Projection Distance, H1 = Image Lower Edge from Lens Centre.

    cheers guys :)

    guess i'll have to try and get the projector closer to the screen, or maybe the screen closer to the pj, ie ceiling mount a screen say 5 foot from the wall

    but ta for the info

    cheers

    I bought mine from nexnix and their service cant be faulted, there are a couple cheaper though - letsgodigital and bedirect are selling for £1499 I believe.

    I bought mine with a barclaycard so I'm going to use their price-matching service
