but, my wife is wanting to tidy my AV corner now all the new gear is installed.

Ideal placement will be in the corner of the room, but the kicker is can the sub - an MS409 - be positioned either on the ground beneath the first shelf of a rack, or even on the lowest shelf - assuming the rack is a decent quality purpose built one (like Alphason etc).

This would put the rear of the 409 at 45deg to the corner of the room - will I get phasing problems, booming from the shelving, and will the vibes disturb the rest of the kit on the shelves above?

    Thanks

    Ian

The floor will be fine if the rack is rigid. The porting shouldn't be an issue.

    Thanks TOF

Just got to find a rack that doesn't cost more than the speakers now!

Remember that racks don't wear out. I remember wincing as I parted with £280 for my stereo rack but in all honesty I can't see me ever needing to change it.
