Any civil engineers/builders here?

Im desperately after some form of a price comparison for steel and concrete in terms of construction (large construction)

I have checked BRe website and googled many times but struggling to find any current price or cost list of these two materials.

Any help would be much appreciated

I don't think you can do a direct cost comparison, the designs would be very different if they were to optimise the two material properties.

EG a steel bridge 'looks' very different to a concrete bridge, to put it simply.

Concrete - around £110/m3
Steel - about £1400/Tonne

Both installed prices. They can vary quite a bit depending on where it is, how complex it is, how much of it is, how much reinforcement in the concrete, etc. but these would be okay for feasibility studies.

Hope this helps.
