I thought Corrie was ok last night, way way overhyped though.

Just hope Gail dies really, i've got nothing against her, only that she looks like ET and moans too much.

She really should chill out a bit!:smoke:

I'm thinking there was a swimming pool local to the TV set which may have been closed for a day or two last week...

Didn't you notice how clear the water was? :D

My wife watches horrornation street - I can't stand it!!

    Heard her laughing.

Most hilarious thing on TV I have seen in ages:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

My god it was absolute rubbish.

    Very B-movie

I found video editing much more fun, and the results better put together.

:D Must admit Martin, that's a spot on summation.

Although that's not to say it wasn't also highly entertaining :smashin:

Watching the actors with the fake sweat sprayed on them in the knackered Cavelier was the funniest thing I've seen in a while.

It's all very well slating Coronation Street but, what you must remember is that this is produced on a small (ish) budget, also, the episodes are being shown with more and more regularity, sometimes two epissodes in one night.

The rate at which they turn out this excellent soap is amazing so i think they can be forgiven for not having the latest Hollywood production tricks.

I personally feel that this soap has run it's course and storylines have worn thin. Time to get rid of it.

That is possibly the most stupid thing i've heard all week.

The storylines on Corrie are ever changing and developing with the characters that are introduced into this excellent soap. There is a real mix of people with the annoying Norris and the comntinual put downs of Steve, which i think are hilarious.

As the story makers develop certain characters to migrate in to a different story line over the period of say six episodes i can't see how it can be justifiably commented that the story lines are wearing thin.

I am surprised. Are you the same Juboy that comes out with all of the well thought out and articulate posts in General Chat.

Can someone start a thread on Who Wants to be a Millionaire as I would love to see whether Juboy's social life extends to that wonderful programme as well :D

To be able to make so many well thought out and articulate posts, you have to absorb all types of information and media.

It's what helps make my views so well balanced and sensible

Can I change my name to 'juboy giraffe' now please?

    Dick,

I am not a 'mind numbling boring person' and in future if you wish to insult me please at least attempt to spell it correctly.

The popularity of programmes such as Coronation Street are only to evident in modern society, reflecting the kinds of situations that can affect everyday life. People look to these programmes for a source of relaxation, a time line for their evening at home with loved ones and a settling down period to relax the mind following the trials of the day.

To trivialise this so much is probaly indicative of your intellect, ability and attitude.

    I'll comment no further.

Can't stand soaps myself. Never seen the point of them. They never seem to go anywhere, the acting is generally dreadful and on the occasions when I glimpse an episode, I just don't understand what people see in them.

To me, they're the TV equivalent of smoking. Probably addictive, but ultimately unrewarding and makes your teeth yellow.

Just because a programme is popular, doesn't mean it's any good. 3-2-1 and Bullseye were hugely popular at one point, The Sun and the Mirror are the best-selling 'news' papers, and there's always a queue at McDonalds...

People who watch such trite on Television obviously have a low intelligence to sit there for 1/2 - 1 hour watching it. I can tell from your posts that you are an avid fan.

    oh dear Dick,

i was the originator of this post.

I can assure i do not have a low brain cell count because i watch corrie.

I have probably worked in more countrys around the world than you cound find on the Map.

And during my worldly travels , one item that can unite the english whilst drinking a beer at the bar, is having a chat about what's happening in the soaps.

In fact during one flight home a few years back the airline showed a feature presentation of elma's death. I can tell you the whole plane was quiet during this screening. A plane with
a pretty mixed bag of passengers.

Go on give it a go , you will love it as it sucks you in.

Erm, it's always been quiet when I've been on a plane. Are you sure your headphones weren't blocking out the sounds of the rest of the passengers' snores??:smoke:

Back on the subject of Corrie. I thought it was a shocking peice of TV. The writers really do need sacking, and replaced with people who have a firm grasp on reality. Gales performance was awefull. Any woman faced with death would of screamed the house down unless she had a blade to there throwt.

When martin was in the back of the car in hot pursuit and complained about it being too hot, me and my partner just ripped up in laughter.

I was expecting this episode to be a joke, I didnt realise it was going to be that funny though.:rotfl:

I think that deep down most people know that watching soaps is like smoking as both are addictive with no redeeming qualities.

    BadAss,

I thought Gail reacted well, in a situation like that there would be a big element of shock involved, and of course the fear for the safety of her children. I you remember, she tried to scream initially but then she realised that it would not help the situation.

Mind, i still dont really like her much ;)

OK, so now you've simply named three TV shows with the lowest ratings on terrestrial TV.

By the looks of your posts, there's very little stopping you doing just that, although my answer to the question would be 'No'.
