Are you accusing me of peddling a conspiracy theory? You seem to be suggesting I am, or maybe I'm misinterpreting your post. I'm asking for the sake of clarity.
you keep going on about johnston/cummings being the greatest threat to the uk since like ever, for some reason. Boris is a proven liar blah blah. One good thing so far is he hasn't bombed anyone unlike thatcher/blair/cameron. the idea a PM doesn't lie is laughable, I grew up with "yes minster", are you so naïve to deny all the skulduggery that goes on in politics for centuries?

From my point of view you have a personal grudge against them, their politics, brexit and all the rest, it's quite likely your grudge is justified, governments can be nasty when policy changes and your on the receiving end,

I actually hadn't paid much attention to brexit aka cummings, Vote came in and I was "oh well" I was a reluctant remainer, wouldn't ever vote for nationalism (it never ends well). Until after lockdown and all the fuss on here, watched the movies :) history you know, I can see why remoaners are spitting, cummings played a blinder, there's clearly a large % of the population, (mostly woke) very pissed off with him.

Anyways now I'm off topic and best stop.

The Independent not holding back

Some would lead you to believe it’s nothing to do with the leadership’s failures - just read some recent posts. The question is, if it’s blind faith or the inability to see the facts? Ofcourse, despite the evidence, there are some that think the likes of Johnson have made a successful job of this pandemic (including himself) but, the facts are the facts, we have one of the highest death rates in the world. Despite this, there is no contrition but, just spin. I guess it comes down to some buy into the bullshit and some don’t!

This paragraph from the Independent article is a good summary...

‘The litany of errors, misjudgements and recklessness is well-documented – the too-late lockdown and too-early relaxation; the dumping of older patients into care homes without testing; the shortages of protective equipment and ventilators; the Cummings affair; the confused messaging; the quarantine debacle; the failure of test and trace and the contact app; inadequate business support for outbreak areas such as Leicester. The only area of relative success has been the national economic package, and even that is being wound down’

Have to be honest, I don’t have a clue about all the rules, so I just wear a mask if I go out, keep 2m away and don’t go to the pub/restaurant. It’s easier to be more extreme than probably required.

The prime minister has told opposition parties a further easing of restrictions due to come in tomorrow in England is being postponed, the BBC's Nick Eardley reports.

It had been expected that venues such as casinos and bowling alleys would reopen from tomorrow. Live indoor theatre and concerts were also due to resume with socially distanced audiences.

Details are expected in the prime minister’s press conference shortly.

Well that's gonna go down like the Titanic.

I don't what they were playing at last night either. Making a public health announcement on social media at 10pm, without even notifying public health officials first.

It's pretty astonishing to be honest.

This is likely to be the PM’s announcement...

Andy Burnham knew on Wednesday...

I've said a few times I don't see a national lockdown happening again, but listening to the speech if things carry on going up infection wise I actually think now that will be a serious option for him.

Certainly the impression from Whitty is not much else can be opened up with the suggestion they reopening in school in Sept isnt a forgone conclusion.

From BBC

Analysis: We may have passed the limit of lockdown easing
James Gallagher
Health and science correspondent, BBC News

Cases in England are increasing for the first time since May.

Data from the Office for National Statistics shows there are around 4,200 new infections a day compared with 2,800 a week ago.

This is not a return to the height of the epidemic in March, but it is telling.

Every restriction we ease increases the ability of the coronavirus to spread and the government’s science advisers have always warned there was not much wiggle room to lift restrictions and still suppress the virus.

The uptick in infections is a warning we may have already passed the limit of lifting lockdown.

That is why Boris Johnson has delayed some of the planned lifting of restrictions in England and face masks will become a more frequent sight.

The big question remains around schools. If the current rules are leading to an increase in cases, can we open schools as well? If we open schools will we have to close something else?

It is worth noting all this is happening in July and scientists suspect the virus will spread even more easily in the winter months.

It's no wonder he's looking to employ someone to communicate for him, the message consistently gets lost within the bumbling buffoonery

Undoubtedly they are in panic mode now, likely given the realisation that their record is looking abysmal.

Therefore any rationality in terms of decision making has gone completely out the window.

Rumours that South East and London could be next for a local lockdown as R rate is hovering around 1 in some areas. They are certainly panicking that this is happening now when it was expected Winter was going to be the worse time.

Soon there will be so many local lockdowns it will just be a full one!

Some of the replies here....:D

Did the missing 69 pages from the government’s BAME report ever get published?

‘Government must urgently publish full report on Covid-19 impact on BAME communities, says BMA’

Responding to news that a section of the recent Public Health England report into the disproportionate impact of Covid-19 on people from BAME communities, which included recommendations for action, was left unpublished last week, BMA council chair Dr Chaand Nagpaul said:

“We have now been made aware that 69 pages of the report were not published and which covered seven recommendations for change. It is vital that this is formally published urgently and for an explanation from Government as to why it was omitted from the earlier report. It is vital that transparency is the foundation in the next steps taken to protect our BAME workforce and community from further harm.”

Britain records 880 more Covid-19 cases in highest daily spike for a MONTH amid fears more lockdowns are 'unavoidable' because the outbreak has reached a 'tipping point'

... for instance, from the the 10th of April until the 10th of May there were 22,000 deaths.

From the beginning of July until now there’s have been less than 2,000
