Corner Unit But Not Like a Normal One

So Mrs AnotherUser doesn't want a generic looking corner TV unit.

We have a fireplace on one side and the wall on the other. We currently have a rectangle unit, which has two drawers and a large space underneath for a PC (orange). Behind it is a subwoofer (green). The TV (blue) points into the room. We're sort of wasting space in the corner as you can't really get there or store anything there either.
The unit we have now has two drawers.

Are there any other options I should consider before writing off some sort of corner unit? I was thinking perhaps hand built (I'm okay, but not amazing at wood work) with some sort of curved top, which means it's not conventual lines. But the drawers may be a problem as I don't really know how to do them. Perhaps a local carpenter but worried that'll cost loads.

Any other ideas?

TV has to stay where it is really as that's where all the AV connections are.
