is there any point in buying a premium console, isnt it better to get the core and then buy the hard drive it seems to be cheaper that way, plus if the console dies and the store wont change the hard drive it wont matter because it isnt with the core.:D

Buying a Core & then the extras costs more than the Premium pack costs.

You do not get a wireless controller or headset with the core.

Does the premium pack only come with a composite lead, or does it come with some sort of scart adapter? My TV only has 2 scart sockets.

    Core is £199.99 with nothing.

The hard drive alone is £69.99.

    The premium is £279.99 with:

    - Hard drive @ £69.99
    - Wireless pad @ £32.99
    - Component cable @ £19.99
    - Headset @ £14.99

I really don't see why people wouldn't go for a premium, but hey maybe that's just me  .

Looking around the high street, there seem to be good deals with both consoles, but definitely better ones with the premium.
