Newbie Question

Would £350 be a good deal for tower only with this spec

Intel Core i7 860 2.8GHz, 8MB, 2.5GT/s
4096MB (2x2048) 1333MHz DDR3 Single Channel
500GB (7200rpm) HDD
DVD +/- RW & Card Reader
1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT220
Soundblaster X-Fi
Gigabit NIC

compared to my i7 rig, bloody hell yeah lol

Thanks for letting me know I've gotten out of touch since core 2 duo days!

Any other opinions on this?

Thanks

David

very good case to allow either one of two options,

a - VERY good air flow
b - water cooling

in my experience so far i7 gets pretty damn hot and stock coolers arent really up to the challenge, i fitted my case with like 8 fans in total to bring temps down adequatly lol.

extremely good PSU. corsair 750watt minimum that is 80+ certified.

as for the case too, dont get one that limits your expansion lol.

by the way, a bluray reqwriter is about £130 now so if you can strech to one i would, allows for MUCH better backups of your o.s

and storing massive amounts of data on a single disk lol.

also handy if you want to watcha blu ray dvd while family or others watch one on main tv or summat lol
