Decided we need one for our 2 up 2 down cottage (only got an ancient yet indestructible Dyson DC02 upstairs and a massive Vax wet and dry r2d2 looking thing downstairs).
I understand the charge only last about 20mins and it won't be as powerful as a corded one.

So what have you got and what have you had? Would you recommend one?
I also want one that can hang on the wall to charge.
We don't have any pets now so don't need one designed specifically for that.

    Thanks in advance.

We have the Dyson DC44, they're around £200 and does our 3 bed house no problem. We don't have pets either so that helps. When i bought it they had a £50 trade in discount so i just went to the tip and nabbed a scrapper to get the £50 off lol

I have no hesitation in suggesting the Vax Air Cordless. We have one. It picks up almost as well as the DC04. It's basically a fully functioning upright; not optimised for hose use, but excellent for standing and pushing.

If you get the "duo" variant, it comes with two batteries and a separate charger that can be wallmounted or laid flat. The "solo" comes with one battery; this is the only difference. The price differential is less than the price of a spare battery so the duo is the one to go for. 20+ minutes runtime with the brush bar on for each battery; use one while the other is charging. And a SIX year P&L warranty - far longer than anything else.

Two versions: the cheaper, lighter one can be used with a hose; the more expensive heavier one (styled "lift") has the entire cyclone cylinder assembly with attached hose such that it can be lifted out and carried whilst being used, leaving the brush bar and handle behind. Thus it's lighter when used as a cylinder - but heavier when used as an upright.

I have a Dyson V6 which I love. It is only £190inc Vat at the moment from Costco, £200 elsewhere. You can clean around 1000q feet on a single charge. The great thing is you can just whip it out and clean up if your family make a mess.
