Copying recordings from an Arris box to the PC

I have a number of Humax Foxsat HDR's all fitted with Raydons firmware etc so I can copy all recordings to my NAS drives and edit and play them back anywhere from my network.

Can I do a similar thing with the Arris recordable box? ie are HD recordings encrypted like the original firmware Humax Foxsats were and can I link in the Arris box to my Network for accessing like the Foxsat/Raydons web interface?
