    Hi guys,

I have looked into this for a few days now, but have found all sorts of ways of doing it, but wondered if somebody cound advise the easiest and safest way.

I have TomTom which I paid £50 for on my iphone 4s. My mum also now has a 4s and seperate account, etc and I was looking at copying my TomTom over to her account to save her paying for it.

I have read about methods of logging into her itunes with my ID, transfer purchases, etc, but wondered if this method would work instead:-

    Open my itunes on laptop
Drag TomTom icon from itunes to desktop
    Copy it onto memory stick
Put memory stick into my mums laptop
    Drag onto her itunes

This does seem a bit of a simple way of doing it, but just wondered if anyone has tried it and it works, or which other method is most simple !!!

    Many thanks, Steve

Simplest way is sign out of her account on her phone (settings - store), sign into yours, go to the app store and the purchased tab, download tom tom. Sign back into her account again.

For any future updates you will need to sign in to your account on her phone to update it.

Ok many thanks for your reply.

Just to check, at the mo on my phone, if I find TomTom on my phone in the app store, it is greyed out with 'installed' shown. Therefore cannot tap it.

When I sign in on my mums phone, do you think it will allow me to install or show it greyed out with 'installed' shown ???

And if able to do it this way, it definately won't charge me again to download (as was £50) !!! ???

    Many thanks, Steve.

As long as your signed into your account it will show with an install button under app store - updates - purchased.

You will not be charged again, as long as your on the correct account.

Many thanks again for your reply.

I have just gone through the process you have recommended (app store - updates - purchased) and it lists all of the apps I have downloaded, etc.

But when I go into TomTom, it is greyed out still with 'installed' shown.

Will this be different (ie not greyed out as not on phone) if I sign in on my mums phone as it hasn't actually been installed on that particular phone, or am Idoing something wrong !!! ???

    Many thanks, Steve.

It's looks at your purchase list and compares that to what's installed on the iThing. Therefore it's definitely going to say installed if its on yours and equally not going to if not already on your Mum's iThing. :)

Just one last question I've just thought about.

When I install on my mums iphone, if she syncs (or transfers purchases) to Itunes on her laptop will it transfer or wipe off phone or will I have to reinstall it when software update ???

    Ta, Steve.

Each time there is an update mate, it will require your Mum to put in your Apple ID details to update it.

    Hope this helps.
