    Hi,

As I write I am awaiting delivery of a Panasonic DMRE55 DVD recorder.

I would like to be able to copy DVD-RAM disks to DVD-R. I was wondering if anybody new of a cheap (and reliable) DVD writer which will copy most formats (including video downloaded from PC). Also is there any cheap/freeware dvd/video editing software I can download,

    Cheers,

    Alan

For the hardware, take a look at the LG GSA4160B - It can read/write all formats including DVD-RAM.

Yes - I use an LG GSA4160B with my Panny E60 recorder & DVD-RAM disks (formatted on the E60)

Of course! The VR mode it uses is an officially specified recording format which is essentially just an MPEG2 file. Naturally you'll need DVD authoring software. See Rasczak's sticky at the top of the forum for a basic guide on how to go through the process!
