    Hello

I'm considering to buy, in fact I need a new preamp and would like some advice about solid state and tube preamps.

    My gear:

    Meridian DVD 596 player
Cyrus AV5 processor (sold a few days ago)
    Mackie 624 active studio monitors

    My preamp consideration:

    Meridian 502 (solide state)
    Copland 305 (tube)

At the moment I'm looking at the Meridian 502 solid state preamp which surely isn't a bad choice for my setup. But, I'm also drawn to the Copland 305 tube preamp because I've read that tube preamps give a touch to musik that solide states just don't have.

I would appreciate any helpfull comments, thoughts and feelings ;)
