My appology to anyone I may have upset with my last thread
    ref copied dvd,s
The reason I want to buy a dvd player that will play copied dvd,s
is because I have a very large collection of music dvd,s which I paid for (allbeit over the top in the uk) a friend of mine has a dvd copier (panasonic) he has offered to copy my music titles so my children can have a collection in their bedrooms,
thats the only reason I asked, sorry if I offended anyone.....

You didn't offend anyone Dave. It's just that it's not permitted on the forums (against the rules) and also many people disagree with it. Even in cases where you have bought the originals and wish to make copies, I think it's still illegal these days actually  , which, if so, I believe is very silly indeed. Personally, I'm only against pirated DVDs and so forth - not where people have already purchased the original.

I don't think it's illegal to make copies of something you already own, as you're only making a copy of material you've already paid for that will be used by the same household.

The best thing i ever bought was a philips dvdr1000............it will copy anything.......

And when they bring out their 5.1 input dvdr recorder, I ll get one of them too.

If its so illegal to copy .....then sony/philips/pioneer/and everybody else that makes dvd+r-r/cdr/rw copying hardware, SHOULD NOT MAKE THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE...........

I ve seen them moan about missing royalties.......but you dont hear them moan when they are raking in millions a week from selling their latest cdr/dvdr recorders........they can take their cake....and eat it.!!

Remind me will you when I will need a license to breath in the UK wont you.

    Everything else needs a license.

The above comments miss the point completely. Since when were these massive electronics manufacturers making these DVD recorders to produce illegal or pirated copies of DVDs?

These machines are meant to be the DVD equivalent of a VCR, not a CD-RW deck.
