But by the looks of it, it doesn't have a digital audio out!!

Apple come so close sometimes, but always miss it at the last point unless you get a USB2 digital output (which I know are available but so untidy).

Hi, here are my thoughts on this

The Mac processor speeds can be quite confusing for people used to I86 architecture (your standard PC) and this has always been technically superior to the x86.

The Radeon is a bit stingy though and it looks to be intergrated onto the MOBO so no chance of upgrading this. It would be interesting to see how it rendered a fast moving complex image and displaying it on a 42" plasma

Sound could be got from an external USB "soundcard"

When you add up the extras that you need

Upgrade to the SUPERDRIVE will give you the ability to write to DVD,
Selecting the 80Gb Drive and Higher Processor
    Upgrade to 512Mb Memory
Selecting the Bluetooth and Airport option (bluetooth needed for the keyboard and mouse) and the wireless keyboard and Mouse

and you end up with a total of £700 and that is without a screen if you are not going to use it on an existing one.

So it really isn't that cheap when you look at Intel/AMD machines, admittedly though, these do not look as good!!!

    Cheers

    Lawrenso
