My brother sent me a DVD of his holiday, and I want to use the footage from it to re-edit it better. Now I don't have access to his DV footage as he's in Australia.

Anywho, what do I need to convert the vob files into something for editing? Should I convert them into DV or is there something more suitable? Is there any freeware. Would I be better off editing the files as raw MPEG2? If so what apps will allow me to edit MPEG2? What do I need for the conversion?

    Cheers for any help.
