    Hi All,

I would like to transfer a video (of my baby son) to DVD.

So far the only way I can think of doing this using MCE is by plugging the aerial into my tuner card (from the video), playing the video and recording like it was live tv. Then go through converting it DVD.

Is there an easier way of doing (even using XP rather than from within MCE).

    My hardware:
    Sapphire 9800pro
    PVR500mce tuner

Any advice appreciated as we also want to get rid of the video player from under the TV now that MCE is running properly.

    Cheers

    Gaz

    Hi,

Don't know about using the aerial but i am converting from vcr to the pc. I have the vcr connected via scart to composite into the tuner card. I don't think there is an easy way to use mce to record because i think you'll need to find a channel with the appropriate length program playing (anyone confirm this?). So instead i use nero vision express from xp to capture, strip and export the feed into mpeg and then use DVX (thanks to lisag for suggesting this) to clean/enhance and convert it to XVid.

I find Xvid is much smaller and comes out better quality when writing a couple of hours to a DVD. Not a quick process i admit though.

    Thanks MattTheBeanster,

I have Nero Vision express as well so I will give this a go.

Had a feeling I would haver to drop out of Media Center to do this.

Will have to convert to DVD though as I need it to play on a standard DVD player.

    Thanks for the advice :smashin:
