I have five Tannoy Saturn S8Cs with 8 inch dual concentric speakers. I am trying to sell two of them as they will be too large for the room as rear surrounds. No one is biting at the moment!

I realise that speaker cabinet design is a specialised art/science, but, could I cannibalize the two rear speakers and mount the cones and crossovers in the ceiling?

    Advice and knock backs accepted!

    Darren

Has anyone got any ideas? I do not want to spend a fortune on Tannoy Dual Concentric Ceiling Speakers (£200 each!) when I have all the bits in the speakers I bought for £60 each. It is just a question of whether they will sound awful or great with some clever boxing in?

Also, I will need to find some white 8 inch grills!

Out of interest, I contacted Tannoy. It seems the driver is the same as the driver used in their current 8 inch DC ceiling speaker - albeit housed in a special housing. So it looks like I will be doing some surgery!

    Hi,

I'm usin three Saturn SC8's (centre and rears). They are an incredible bargain at the moment, I'm well pleased. Good luck with your surgery.

Hi, I'm a new member and I saw you have 2 Tannoy S8C to sell. I'm interrested in these speakers. Black ash? and in which condition, original boxes?
    What is your price, please.

Hi DarrenH, I just found your other message (closed). So, you will try to use the components of the 2 speakers S8C to make in ceiling one's. If it doesn' work, I will interested in buying them at a price matching your purchase price + shipping.
    Thank you in advance
PS :I'm also looking for informations about a current Ebay bid on used S8LCR (still 35 pairs). What is the real condition of the speakers?
