Hello,

I recently bought a Canon IXUS camera which can record video. The videos are *.MOV format which my PS3 won't play. Does anyone have any recommendations on the best way to get them to play on the PS3. They videos are stored on a media server (ZyXEL NSA310), if I could get them to play directly from the media server that would be great, otherwise I guess I'll have to convert them to MP4 (?).

Thanks!

Mat.

PS3 Media Server can be set to transcode certain file types on-the-fly to the PS3. Never tried it though!

Another option is to use Handbrake to convert from .mov to .mp4

I have all my stuff on a QNAP NAS and through their media server, connected to the PS3. Just connecting to the built in media server from the PS3, the PS3 will not play unsupported media. Transcoding needs to be done somewhere .

Good luck.

I'm sure you can also just repack the audio/video streams from the MOV file to an MP4 container with YAMB:

Thanks for the replies, I think I'll have to convert the files as I don't want me PC on to transcode them.

Regards,

Mat.
