I am about to convert the rear basement of the house into a HT room. The architect has drawn plans for the front basement. So I thought I might as well do the whole lot in one go. Building control have also given me the green light for the conversion.

The HT room dimensions are 18' x 53' and it is approx 8' 9" in height.. Could someone help with the following questions.

Do the dimensions of this room need to be altered for ideal acoustics?

What is the best material to use on the floor, walls and ceiling?

Which projector and screen (size/make) would suit this room?

Any lighting suggestions (I have used X10 throughout the house)?

    Any help is much appreciated.
