Converting 720p WMV Files

I've been looking around the web for advice on how to do this.

Basically, I want to convert some hi definition 720p Media Player files so that i can play them on my stand alone DVD player.

That's where I've run into a brick wall, as I can't see how to convert retain this 720p data. TMPEG only gives me options for 720x480 (NTSC) or 720x576 (PAL).

Help!

DVD doesn't support 720p, the resolutions you list are the maximum the current DVD-Video standard supports !

Doh!

Ah, so in order for me to display a 720p image on my projector, i would need to have it directly connected to my PC.......

Damn, it's too slow too play them!

I'll maybe see about converting them down and see how they appear anyhow.

Cheers for your help,
