Convert sky scart to HDMI or component

I'm looking at the best method of sending my Sky signal up to a new LCD in the bedroom that has HDMI and component input. Are there DVD recorders out there where you can pass the Sky RGB signal through it and then get a HDMI or component output that I can send upstairs. Obviously HDMI would be better for PQ and size of cable (does it carry sound?). I also have a spare Sky box and did hear you can use the RF2 output of your Sky+ box as the input for your other box and get a freesat card??

No way, you need a feed to your dish for a second digibox!

The quality would be no different to an RGB enabled Scart but like you said the smaller cable would be neater.
