    Hi
I've got some lamps that I want to convert to accept my Philips hue bulbs. They are currently holding e14 bulbs and I need to swap them to accept E27. I've searched around on Google and you tube for a guide but all I keep finding is the adapters that act as a go between. Unfortunately this solution isn't any good for me because the extra length this would add to the bulb means that they would poke above the shade.

Can anyone give me a guide on what's involved in swapping it out from the current one to what I need?

    Any help would be great

That's rather difficult without knowing the first thing about the lamps in question.

It sounds like you're talking about replacing the bulb holder/lamp socket. They come in a variety of sorts and fixings but a lot of them unclip and unscrew. Although I guess you may have to unsolder the electrical connections depending on the vintage and quality of the lamp.
