I have the 55" sony but I have noticed that the convergence looks slightly out by say a pixel or two, when up close to the screen easily noticeable but from 8-10ft I don't see it.

when displaying white the red bleeds to the top and right and the blue bleeds to the bottom and left.[IMG]

but then when displaying black or yellow the red bleeds bottom and left with the blue bleeding top and right.[IMG]

If this is a convergence error, will setting the red and blue perfect for whites make the blacks even worse ?
If it can be corrected in the service menu how can I set it as I don't have a clue what anything means in the service menu ?

    cheers.:)

    Hi,
I'm in the same boat as you and have posted a thread yesterday(no replies yet).

I can get into the service menu but I need a bit of guidance from there as there are alot of options.

Come on you experts share the love.

    Thanks

    Paulh.

I'd have to do what you can do - search the forum. I can't remember what the field names are of the top of my head. Try a search on "convergence" and trawl through the results.

    Found it

Go to the Service Menu / Panel Menu / 1 TG submenu
    Items 1, 2, 3 are the Horizontal Convergence Adjustments for R, G, B
    (HSIFTR, HSFTG, HSFTB)
    Items 25, 26, 27 are the Vertical Convergence Adjustments for R, G, B
    (VSFT_R, VSFT_G, VSFT_B)

Again, I can't remember, I'd have to search these forums. Try looking in the SXRD settings thread, or try a search on "service menu".

I went through the thread before to get the service menu instructions, it said the same thing :
    panel
    1tg
    vsftr

but I do not see any of those options in the service mode on my tv - where does it say panel ? 1 tg or even vsftr ??

    cheers tarbat.

Should be straightforward. Go into the service, use the jump key (to the right of 0 on the remote) to get to the PANEL menu, then use 2 & 5 to navigate to the 1TG section, then use 1 & 4 to find the right parameter.

A little bit of a problem with this, where 1080p picture has perfect convergence, but as soon as i go back to a lower 480 resolution it still shows the convergence bleeding, why ??

What type of input is that - SCART, Component, ?? Doesn't sound like a convergence problem.

    1080p via hdmi = perfect
576p via hdmi = still convergence issue but not as bad.
sky via scart = still convergence issue but not as bad.

    is this normal ?
