    just dloaded the demo after typhoon said its the best game hes ever played.

    i was impressed,but being a console gamer i was wondering if you can get a pad andplay the game.

    i detest the usual keyboard/mouse combo,just cant get on with it.

    i really want to buy the full game now but this issue is holding me back.

    any advice lads?

    If you cant get on with the mouse + keyboard, i wouldnt bother with this game - even if it does support a gamepad, you wouldnt last more than 5secs online.

    I always map the movement keys as follows (for any 1st person shooter).

    forward = up arrow
    backward = down arrow
    strafe left = left arrow
    strafe right = right arrow
    jump = enter
    crouch = ctrl
    right shift = prone (or in some games 'sprint')
    delete = peer left
    page down = peer right

    anything else, like the WASDX area of keys i just cant get on with at all. Maybe you could try the above too?.

    I use a belkin Nostromo gamepad for FPS. Works a treat but its essentially little different to a mouse/keyboard with the exception of a thumbpad for movement and keys within easy reach.

    All I can say is LEARN to use a KB/M.

    I also used to play mainly on consoles but now that im older and can afford a good PC i play mainly on that.

    Once you get used to keyboard mouse you cant immagine going back to a contoller for a FPS.

    Its not that hard, you may spend a while looking down, but once you get used to it its good.

    Try practicing on an older easyer game that has basic controls.

    Something like DOOM. (not doom3)

    Once you get used to the simple controlls (WADS + mouse) then move on to practicing using the space bar for jumpong and the shift key for crouching. and so forth.

    Controlls chage from game to game so tak a look at the instructions that come with the game and learn the keys. Or even change them till you feel comfortable.

    Another thing is having a decen KB/M. Make sure you feel comfortable with what you have.

    A decent logitech keyboard doesnt cost that much these days.

    A decent mouse can be a bit more expensive but its worth it.

    I recomend the new logitech 510 1600dpi mouse or the razer diamondback, also 1600dpi.

    Wireless mice are also good, but maybe cost more.

    has anyone got a z-board with the battefield 2 keyset? Been looking at getting one but is it worth the money or just a fancy gimmick with no real function?

    Try a nostromo. Puts all the movement and other function keys under one hand. (you have to be right handed though its not reversible) and you use the mouse as normal in the right. ( I always use the middle mouse button or wheel to jump )

    i had a Zboard for about an hr and it got sent straight back. pile of steaming :censored: imo and just a big gimmick. some people probably like them but a standard keyboard does the exact same job
