Hi, not sure if this is in the right place?

I have my PC located in an upstairs bedroom. It is connected to my Pioneer MXE plasma in the lounge downstairs via s-video and digital audio coax, both routed through my AV amp.

I want to be able to play pc games on my plasma and poss. surf the net.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I could control the pc via my usb wireless mouse and keyboard in the lounge? The wireless mouse and keyboard are out of range to the pc when I move them out of the room the pc is in.

Is there a transmitter/receiver setup i could employ to boost the usb signal for the mouse/kbd?

I am not bothered about dvd playback from the pc or as I have a standalone player connected to the plasma. I just wondered about using it for gaming occasionally

    Thanks

    Try.....

    http://www.keyboardco.com/

I use the SCLI & the LILI models all over the house. The keyboard is great.

The IR recivers have both keyboard and mous connectors and can plug in in place of the normal ones

I have a partial bungalow so all PC's racked ip in the loft and then just use keyboard and mouse extension cables.

    Thanks Jblandford,

It says that those units have a 7m range on the blurb but do you think they would work OK in my situation i.e upstairs to downstairs? I am fairly sure this distance is less than 7m but how do these units work through walls and floors?

    Good point

The 7m range is the ir range.

The reciver would be closer than that as your have the standard k/brd & mouse extender cables wich i think are OK up to 10m without an inline repeater.

If you use cheap old PC's with a good sound card and a spare amp and good ceiling speakers/sheap small flat screen - cheap whole house audio!

Does that mean the keyboard will work between walls?

I don't want wires running around the house so the only way that one of these units would suit me is if say there was a transmitter unit on the pc and then poss. a receiver wireless receiver unit I could site in the lounge where I intend to use the mouse and keyboard.

If this set won't transmit through walls an floors then I don't think it would work for me...

    Thanks jblandford.

anyone else know of a device I could use?
