Control soundbar with Magic Remote

Novice Member
Hi all,

I recently purchased an OLED48C14LB and SL4 2.1 soundbar.

I am able to change the volume of the soundbar and mute it with the TV’s Magic Remote but unable to power it on or off with the TV using the power button on the Magic Remote.

This was working but for some reason it has stopped. I have tried everything I can think of including connecting the soundbar with the Universal Device Control on the TV which doesn’t seem to make much difference but for being able to power the bar on using the … button menu.

I did have a Firestick 4K Max plugged in and the remote for this was able to power the TV and bar off and on at the same time as well as control volume. I then decided I preferred the internal apps on the TV so unplugged it. I do wonder if somehow having the Firestick plugged in was send some sort of signal to the bar even though I was using the Magic Remote and internal apps/freesat.

Soundbar connected with optical, no HDMI port.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Best Wishes,
