Hi Guys

I am looking for some advise on what's the best way to go.

I am starting to dabble in to the smart home scene,
I am doing room by room at the moment,
I have a few Lifx bulbs and an amazon echo and a nest thermostat.

For the next part I want to be able to switch my Tv on and off from the echo,
Now my Tv is on the wall and the socket it's that close to the back of Tv I can't put a smart plug behind it as there is no room,
So that rules out going down the smart plug route (I.e. TP link hs100, SmartThings plug etc)
What options do I have to do this?

As I don't have a any type of hub at the moment so I am open to any suggestions.

Thanks

Why don't you get a Logitech Harmony Hub then, that you can control from Alexa and turn on the TV via IR.

Don't see the point of switching the mains off on a TV which would have a very low powered standby anyway. Plus if you did then you would still need to switch it on via IR.

Yes, I agree. I use an IR controlled Standbysaver but only because I want to power off a subwoofer with no standby function. It is still controlled by a Harmony hub.
For a cheaper solution Broadlink RM mini or Pro and an old android device with RM-plugin works with echo.
