Anyone know any good calibrators that work in Northern Ireland. I have a LG oled 55e6 that will have sky q and consoles to calibrate in the new year.

Anyone know a good calibrator in the Toronto / North York area?
C4man responded to me he's a ISF Level II calibrator. Give him a shout

Got access to a NEC display wall calibrator software and a spider 4 can i use that to calibrate my screen

I'm tempted to go down the calibration route for the first time.

I've got a 55" b6 LG oled with sky q and a Panasonic uhd player.

Can anybody give recommendations. I feel that £300 would be my upper limit but cheaper the better!

Any calibrator in north Wales near Llandudno ?

Hi there, I have Vincent Teoh from HDTV test coming out to calibrate my TV on Tuesday 7th February, he is based in Manchester.

I live in Flint in North Wales. He may have been able to offer us both a discount possibly if you had yours done the same day, as he is already down our neck of the woods.

Anyone know of any in South Wales? Getting an LG 65C OLED.

That list/map linked to in the first post is a bit sparse (just 2 people), any chance of updating it if people make recommendations?

Are these calibrators trustworthy? I hate letting people I don't know into the house. Its not unfounded. Last year we sold a bathroom cabinet via Spock and the person came to collect. They seemed genuine at the time but we foolish let them use the ensuite in our bedroom as our daughter was in the bathroom and we were having a new suite installed in the one downstairs. Everything seemed OK but a few days later my wife discovered most of her jewellery was missing and a few of my watches. We were covered with our home and contents insurance but he'd stolen the best part of £18k worth of some very treasured and sentimental items that just couldn't be replaced. I felt sick and my wife was besides herself. According to the Police detective who has been dealing with the theft this isn't uncommon and they see it regularly. Seemingly genuine people posing as buyers praying on people through low security sites such as Spock. They still haven't caught the thief and we don't hold much hope they will. Really wish I had taken some precautions but we didn't want to escort a 'guest' to the toilet and back.

Sorry to sound paranoid. I really would like to have both my 65B6 and 78KS9500 calibrated but would require some cast iron guarantee before letting anyone in our home again.

I'm in midlands area and have been considering Vincent Teoh and Steve Kemp. Both have recommendations but to be honest my wife is very reluctant. Are there any police checks done on calibrators?

Sorry to hear of your previous troubles - but you can be assured that if either of the individuals mentioned (or indeed any of the other assured advertisers) got involved in anything like that, they would be revealed here and wouldn't last long in business. I can only vouch for those I have used (Steve Kemp and Gordon Fraser) and I would have no hesitation in recommending either.

Hi Chris. Just noticed your post about you having your TV calibrated. I've just bought a 65" LG B6 OLED from Richer Sounds in Chester and my thoughts when buying it were, that I'd probably have it calibrated as well. However, after getting it home and set up with some settings off the internet, I'm really impressed with the results, so I'm now wondering whether-or-not it's actually going to be worth the extra money to get it set up by a professional! Have you been kinda 'blown away' by the difference...or is it just a small/medium improvement in PQ? Thanks for any advice...

Hi, it did make a big difference to my picture, but maybe not that you'd notice every day until you see your own settings compared against the calibrated ones. I had reasonably good settings before from guidance from the people on here, the internet and using a spears & munsil calibration disc. But after wards, for example underwater scenes in planet earth now have a perfect blue hue whereas before my settings had a slight greenish tint. Also, the colours appear richer and the overall image brighter with greater pop and depth. There is better variation in peoples skin tones, whereas they looked slightly washed out before. I suppose it's difficult to answer in a way because people's perceptions are different. I think it's reassuring to know your TV is displaying an accurate a picture as possible though after calibration.

Thanks for the reply @Tommo79 What are we looking at for the calibration? If it were too far north of a ton, I'd have trouble convincing myself it would be worth it (not to mention the missus....) as I'm so impressed with the out-of-the-box PQ.

looking to see roughly the cost to calibrate an LG 65BV6 and a BenQW1070, location Kirkcaldy, Fife.

I think costs are between £250-£350.

Anyone know if Gordon Fraser @ Covergent is still up and running as a company? Requested details for calibration through his website a few weeks ago but haven't had a reply yet.

I had Ivan Samuels (Greyscale) calibrate my E6 at the weekend. Great guy, extremely easy to deal with, good communication, highly professional. Seems he's calibrating many OLEDs right now, and in fact he'd done another E6 the same morning. He was calibrating for well over 3 hours (2d only) and I felt entirely comfortable leaving him alone in my house whilst, being child free for the day, I did the honourable thing and took my missus to the pub.

Pre-calibration I was using ISF Dark settings pretty much as they were out of the box, and it's not like the picture was terrible and is now amazing, but there is definitely a noticeable difference. In particular, the picture has more depth, the colours are more natural/balanced and there is less crushing/noise in very dark scenes - though that is still present due to the nature of the panel.

All in all, highly recommended.

Hi. I am seriously considering updating my old Panasonic Plasma to an oled screen. Given that these new oled screens are, for me, quite expensive just what will I have to pay to get it properly set up and calibrated? It's a cost that will for most of us have to factored into the cost of the tv.
It seems silly to spend lots of money on a super tv and not then have it perform to its full potential.
So can someone give me a ballpark cost?
Thanks in advance.

Nick

Yes - he has been on holiday for a number of weeks.

I've just sent email to HDTVTest to see what they can do for me. I'm looking at both the Panasonic and the new Projector done at same time.
