New here :hiya: and to Home Cinema and Plasmas, so a bit confused by all these cables and possible connections. Hopefully someone can help.

I've just bought a Phillips 42PF9946, Denon DHT-500SD to go along with my old Sky box and Xbox.

Looking at the instructions and a few posts on here, would the following produce the best image/sound:

Sky box connected via S Video and RCA L/R to the Denon
Xbox connected via Advanced Scart and Optical to the Denon
Denon connected via Component to Phillips

    OR

Sky box connected via RGB Scart to Denon
Xbox connected via Advanced Scart to Phillips & Optical to Denon
Denon connected via Component to Phillips

As the Home Cinema kit will be used for the sound, then I presume I dont need RCA leads from the Denon to Phillips. Is there a better combination?

Then if I wanted to I could connect a Video Recorder to the sky box using scart.

So I would need to buy the Component along with the S Video and RCA leads. Already have a few Ixos Scart connectors. Only looking to spend another £80 on cables before I blow my budge completely, so any recommendations gratefully received.

Thanks in advance to any one who replies.
