Sorry about this guys, novice question...

Looking at the Black Panny 6 and it comes with the TY-42TM6Y board, which is BNC and Svideo, and Component.

However when looking at the board there are 5 BNC Connectors for the the Component, I thought Component was only three, what are the other two for ???

I am keen to buy one of these but I need to know what cable to get ....

    Cheers

    Karl

Yes they are seperate Horizontal/Vertical sync - which allows you to connect using the common component cable with 3 connections (usually Y, Cb, and Cr) or (with a setting change on the plasma) 5 connections with seperate horizontal/vertical sync (R, G, B, H, V) but not sure what devices use the R B G H V connections.

Look here http://www.av-sales.com/plasma/html/pan_6th_gen_boards.html at the boards. The component board has 3 BNC cnnectors for the Y, Cb and Cr leads, and 2 RCA leads coloured red and white for sound. The synch comes through one of the component leads. You only need a separate synch signal when using an RGBHV connection which is done through the 15pin connector for the Panny plasmas.

Guys, he's being sold the original type panny universal video board, this is fine, it is RGBHV or component, switchable on the screen menu, ans shared svideo/composite. There is a separate audio in port, or ports stereo, for each input, if you are using the on board amplifier, and the audio port for the 15pin is a 3,5mm jack beside the d-sub. The d-sub input is indeed rgbhv, and also switchable to component in the screen menu. The ty42tm6y is not one of those on the av sales site, it is the board supplied with the 5 series.

That's certainly so, but it has 2 sets of connections, so fair do's, you'd use 2 boards and 2 slots to get the same another way, exept you can now use the vga port for YUV, which you couldn't on the 5
