Hi Guys,

Happy New Year!

As a newcomer to AV Forums I would really appreciate it if anyone could advise me on connecting my new Home Cinema system!

I have just purchased a new Panasonic TH-37PX70B Plasma TV and a Sony DAV-IS10 Home Cinema System and now want to connect it all up. However, I also have a Panasonic DMR-EH50 HDD-DVD Recorder and that too needs connecting. Now, I plan to upgrade that too later in the year to an HDMI compatible one but in the mean time what cabling do I need to get and how should I connect to get a cracking picture?

I assume that I connect the TV and Home Cinema System via HMDI but what about the DVD Recorder? Optical lead?

Any help would be grateful guys.

For best picture HDMI for AV system.
DVD recorder to TV via Component (set to progressive) and optical to AV system

Cheers Andy,
So HDMI from AV system to TV!
But...... Can you explain the DVD bit a bit more simply!
I'm pretty new to all of this.
'Component (set to progressive)' what exactly do you mean....SCART? And do I get an optical cable to connect to the Sony System and DVD recorder directly?
Sorry for sounding niaive about all of this.
Cheers
