    This ignoramus need some help!!

I have a satellite receiver which i have connected by scart to my DVD recorder 5100HS.
From the recorder I have connected by scart to the TV

That is all working great. My problem is that i want to connect my VCR to the system so that I can put all my old VCR tapes on to DVD. My VCR only has scart connections,
no AV sockets or 'S'video. So where can I connect it to?

The Pioneer instructiion book is very vague about connecting up a VCR and how it works, like which line-in to use etc.

Maybe the matter is very simple- I hope so, and would appreciate your help.

If you only want to copy your VCR tapes to DVD all you need to do is to disconnect the satellite box and plug the VCR into that scart.

Another way may be to connect the VCR to the TV using a spare scart on the TV as some televisions allow you to record the outputs from designated scarts
