Hi there, im having trouble setting up my system.

Basically, I have a sony tv, a sony dvd player and a sony av receiver.

    heres my connection.

    tv >- dvd : scart

dvd >- av receiver : coaxial cable

tv >- av receiver : phono cable

when i play a movie off the dvd player, it plays audio off the surround speakers fine.

but when i try to play tv to surround sound, i get nothing but a buzzzzz sound. ive also turned off the tv internal speakers and ive connected the phono cable from the tv to the receiver to either video 1 or video 2 or multi chan and selected the source on the receiver i.e. if i connected it to video one, i would select video one, if i connect it to video 2, i selected video, but still no sound comes through.

    what have i done wrong?

    any help please please

Are you sure your using an output from the TV not an input?
