    Hi,

I am trying to hook up my media center PC to my Toshiba 32ZT29B TV.

I have the video configured as a composite input using EXT3. I have connected the digital out from my PC into the coaxial digital input on the back of the TV. I have assigned the digital-input-2 channel to EXT3. The problem is I dont get any sound through the TV!

If I connect the cable to an external DD decoder the sound is fine, but if I connect it to the TV I get nothing! Is this TV not equiped with a DD decoder? It says DD on the front!

Any help you could give me would be appreciated I am really stuck!

    Thanks
    Tristan

Isn't there a surround sound setup menu with various options on the TV?

Yes there is, I just checked it. If I choose the surround component in the sound menu it seems to flicker between no signal and the volume setup for a signal.

It looks to me that the signal is intermittant. Possibly the cable I am using is too long (6-7m), although it is a fairly good thickness, it is for analog however (standard double RCA cable).

Humm. I guess I will try a shorter cable next if I can get hold of one!

Any recommendation for a digital cable that doesnt cost the earth?
