Connecting Topfield 5810 to Panasonic TX32LXD60

Hi to all
I am almost convinced to buy a Topfield 5810, and connect it to my Panasonic TX32LXD60 television, using a HDMI cable.

Can anyone tell me if I will be able to watch TV with the Toppy in standby via the DVB tuner in the television. I am quite a Luddite with technology so please bear that in mind if you can help.
Thanks in advance:lease:

Having experience of a PVR into a Sony with inbuilt freeview capability I can safely say yes but, if your set is anything like my Sony was, the PVR will be quicker to switch channel and of course, if you already have the Toppy switched on and then notice something that you want to record you don't have to miss the x seconds that it takes to initialise.

Got the 5810 and first impressions are favourable!! Couple of little niggles about the remote, its too cluttered and some of the keys are hard to distinguish. I was away last week and set 'The Bill' to record, it didn't!! But I don't know if it was transmitted or not. Anyone help out there.
