    I’ve currently got my Sky+ box connected to my TV via SCART, and I’ve just brought a LCD projector (Panasonic AE700). What I want to do now is wire up the PJ to the Sky+ box, but still have the TV connected to it. Are the two SCART outputs on the Sky+ box always live, or will only one work at a time? If only one at a time, what are my options? (I can’t remember what other outputs are on the back of the Sky+ box)

    I’m pretty new to this stuff, so I could also do with some advice on connections – the run from the Sky+ box to the PJ is going to be about 10m – am I right in thinking that the best way to do this is going to be a 10m SCART -> RGB cable? Or would just a 10m SCART -> SCART be best? Seems a bit daft to be carrying the audio to the PJ as well though…

    Any help, much appreciated!

    :lease:

    best bet in your situation is probaly run S-video from SKY+ box to PJ
    keep both displays connected and viewing same channel...... what else do you have? DVD player AV AMP etc? there may be a better way available if you spend a few quid....

    Thanks for the quick response.

    When you say S-Video, does the Sky+ box have a "normal" S-Video output as well as the 2 SCARTS, or do I have to use one of the SCARTs with a SCART-> S-Video lead (sorry if I'm talking rubbish, but my grasp on this is somewhat weak!)

    My full set up will be:

    Sky+ -> TV (SCART)
    Sky+ -> PJ (???)
    DVD -> TV (SCART)
    DVD -> PJ (HDMI)

    The PJ inputs are:

    S-VIDEO IN: Single-line, Mini DIN 4-pin
    Y: 1.0 V [p-p], C: 0.286 V [p-p], 75 Ω

    VIDEO IN: Single-line, RCA pin jack
    1.0 V [p-p], 75 Ω

    PC IN:
    RGB: Single-line, D-sub HD 15-pin (female)
    R.G.B.: 0.7 V [p-p], 75 Ω
    G.SYNC: 1.0 V [p-p], 75 Ω
    HD/SYNC: TTL high impedance, automatic positive/negative polarity compatible
    VD: TTL high impedance, automatic positive/negative polarity compatible

    COMPONENT IN:
    Y, PB/CB, PR/CR Single-line, RCA pin jack x 3
    Y: 1.0 V [p-p] (Including sync), 75 Ω
    PB,PR (CB,CR): 0.7 V [p-p], 75 Ω

    HDMI IN: Single-line, 19-pin HDMI connector

    ...assuming that makes more sense to you than it does to me!

    Thanks again

    Neil

    yes Sky+ boxes have a dedicated 4 pin Mini DIN S-video socket on the rear so just need a decent S-video to S-video cable

    Thanks, I'll go for that then, though (at the risk of being hopelessly wrong) would this also be an option to go from the Sky+ SCART to the PC input on the back of the PJ:

    SCART -> 15 Pin HD Male RGB (Wired RGsB)
