    Bought a Pioneer DV 565a about a month ago, and last night I experienced the dreaded "horizontal banding" problem for the first time.........:(
    Anyway, I did as suggested, and connected the player with an S Video to SCART lead instead, and this cured the problem.
    What I was wondering though, was can you connect both an RGB SCART, and an S Video lead at the same time, without causing any problems ? That way, if I come across any more disks that have this problem, it would save me having to pull everything out and swap my cables around just to watch a film.......

    Yes that would be fine providing you have enough sockets.

    Cheers Andy;

    I'll give it a go tonight.
    Might be paying yourselves a visit for a decent quality S Video to SCART otherwise :)

    Ian.
